Hubbard Hall for All

Hubbard Hall strives to enrich the lives of individuals and communities, and offer valuable pathways to learning through the arts. To that end, with the 2014-2015 season, Hubbard Hall launches our new Hubbard Hall for All program. In collaboration with individual donors and funders, Hubbard Hall for All will guarantee that all of our main stage productions are available and accessible for all community members. Hubbard Hall for All provides free tickets to those who serve our community each day, including: Military personnel and their families, Veterans, EMS workers, the Farming Community, Fire and Rescue, Police and the Special Needs Community. Through the generous sponsorships of local individuals and businesses, we are able to offer these tickets at no charge to qualifying individuals.  Call 518-677-2495 for more information on how to secure tickets.

“Whispering Bones” Storytellers

Seeking two performers to join the cast “Whispering Bones”, the evening of ghost stories at Hubbard Hall Center for the Arts on Saturday, October 25th.  This performance will benefit Hubbard Hall’s Arts Scholarship program.  Actors and storytellers will be performing classic and original ghost stories, both comic and creepy. 
The following actors are sought:
·    A woman to play a character age 40 or older
·    A man aged 30 or older
Will be performing first-person dramatic stories.

Auditions at Bennington and Skidmore Colleges for
Hubbard Hall Center for the Arts 2014-2015 Theater Season

Hubbard Hall Center for the Arts in Cambridge, NY, and David Andrew Snider, Executive Director, announce auditions for its 2014-2015 Theater season, including The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee by William Finn and Rachel Sheinkin,A Winter Carnival of New Works (12 new plays in 12 days), Tartuffeby Moliere and An Iliadby Lisa Peterson and Denis O’Hare. Seeking actors of multiple types and ages for first three shows; An Iliad is already cast.

Auditions will be held on the Bennington College campus on Sunday, September 7th, 3-6 p.m., VAPA Room D207 and on the Skidmore College campus on Friday, September 12th from 12-3 p.m., Zankel Music Center, Room 214.

Contact David Snider at david@hubbardhall.org or 518-677-2495, ext. 313, to schedule an audition if interested. On campus audition location will be confirmed with scheduled actors one week prior to auditions.

Please prepare one contemporary comedic monologue and two songs from the show for The 25th Annual Putnam Spelling Bee. Winter Carnival or Tartuffe auditions can consist of two monologues (one contemporary and one classic, please) and part of song sung unaccompanied.

About the Season

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

Rehearsals begin October 7 and run thereafter Tues-Friday 6:30-10:30 p.m. and Sat-Sun 12-6 p.m. Rehearsal scheduling in the first few weeks can be somewhat flexible based on actor availability and ability. Show previews November 6 and opens November 7 and runs through November 30th, with performances Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 2 and 8 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m. There is a possibility we will add an additional 2-3 weekday school tour performances to the schedule, prior to rehearsals starting. Directed by David Andrew Snider; Musical Director Richard Cherry. Some roles already cast, especially seeking men with this audition.

Winter Carnival of New Works

Rehearsals run January 5-14, with performances January 15-February 1, 2015, Thursdays and Fridays at 8 pm, Saturdays at 2 and 8 pm and Sundays at 2 pm.

Tartuffe by Moliere

Rehearsals run January 27-February 18, with performances February 19-March 15, Fridays at 8 pm, Saturdays at 2 and 8 pm, Sundays at 2 pm.

Seeking actors ages 15 and up of multiple types and ages for first three shows; An Illiad is already cast.
