I love the mix of wonderful amateur and professional artists, from children to seniors, all working together, and the great audiences who appreciate it all! There are also loads of classes to take, and workshops for everything from kids’ art to opera.

What I love about Hubbard Hall is its sense of family, friendship, community, and acceptance, its wide array of course and production offerings which appeal to any and all artistic interests, and perhaps most importantly to me, its ability to nurture the arts in young generations and equip them with skills to take wherever they go.
If someone was thinking about getting involved here, I would say “do.” I have had some of my fondest memories and my biggest breakthroughs on this campus. High school English class just wasn’t cutting it. I wanted to truly understand and empathize with the characters in the plays I was reading. I also needed to feed my need to be on stage, and one performance a year with my drama club wasn’t enough. (Also, my mother told me I should audition. “Thanks, Mom”.)
What I love about Hubbard Hall is the incredibly inclusive and loving environment, the way I feel like I belong there, and how anyone can feel the same way.
If someone was thinking about getting involved here, I’d say that you’ll be a better, happier person for it if you do get involved. It is a decision that I can promise you won’t regret.

I first got involved at Hubbard Hall by attending theater performances when visiting my parents. As children, we were exposed to the arts in many different forms and grew to have a deep appreciation for music, theater, fine arts and dance.
