Featuring pianist Duncan Cumming, cellist Şölen Dikener, and violinist Hilary Cumming
The Capital Trio will present an afternoon program of music written for piano, violin and cello. The artists will share some remarks about the pieces from the stage, and will be available for conversation following the program. Hilary and Duncan both teach and perform at the University at Albany, and Solen Dikener teaches at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. As members of the Capital Trio, in residence at UAlbany since 2008, they have performed across the United States as well as on tours to the United Kingdom, France, Switzerland and Denmark. Recent recordings of the music of David Walther (Threads of the Heart, 2013; Distance 2021) and the music of Bill Matthews (A Book of Hours, 2010) can be found on Albany Records.
